You take Radiohead for granted after a while. You forget how brilliant they are. Then you go to a show where the performer gives their last encore; climbs up beside statues of angels, up high in the theatre, near the ceiling. Armed with a red ukelele, they sing Creep, and everyone sings along, quietly. Then you remember.
Someone who thinks that my email address is their email address has been signing me up for lots of things this past year. I’ve been receiving lots of “was great to talk with you” emails from real estate agents, so I guess they’re looking for a house. A few signups for kids’ sites, which bothers me. And today, Playboy.
Turns out most sites on the webernet don’t have a double opt-in policy.

My comfort movies are ones with Drew Barrymore, Meg Ryan, James Bond, among others. I don’t know about the first two, I don’t even like most of their movies.

I’m interested in the idea of a charity with a membership that instills such pride that you claim it as part of your identity. Proud member of. Maybe you even have to qualify to belong. Maybe all of this already exists.
